Nine Inch Nails Taps A Perfect Circle For U.S. Tour

Originally published in MTV on March 1, 2000

It's been a long time coming, but Nine Inch Nails is finally planning a U.S. tour.

While dates have yet to be firmed up, the Trent Reznor-led band plans to kick off its Stateside trek in mid-April with A Perfect Circle (the latest effort from Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel) in the opening slot.

A full itinerary of tour dates is expected to arrive early next week.

The tour will be NIN's first U.S. run in support of "The Fragile," which hit stores last September. Reznor and company have already taken their new sounds to Europe, where the band toured late last year.

The outing will also mark the first bit of extensive touring for A Perfect Circle, which recently signed a deal with Virgin Records (see "Tool's Maynard Prepares A Perfect Circle Debut"). Keenan, Howerdel, bassist Paz Lenchantin, and drummer Josh Freese will be making the rounds in support of "Mer De Noms," which arrives on May 23.
