Nine Inch Nails returned to record stores this week
with considerable help from a handful of remix masters.
Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto and The Orb's Alex Paterson and Andy
Hughes are among the sonic sculptors who contributed remixes of NIN's "The
Perfect Drug" to a five-song remix EP aptly titled "The Perfect Drug
Versions."
Luke Vibert of Plug, Jonah Sharp of Spacetime Continuum, and Trent Reznor
himself (with the help of Keith Hillebrandt and Brian Pollack) also rework
the track, creating a collection that melds drum-n-bass, industrial,
ambient, and jungle.
The EP arrived in stores on Tuesday, and will surely be as coveted among NIN
fans as the band's many other remix EPs.
