Jan. 29 [18:00 EST] -- Nine Inch Nail Trent Reznor talks about working with one of his gods, film director David Lynch, and a possible collaboration with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube in the February issue of "Raygun" magazine.

Reznor recently finished assembling the soundtrack ("Control" live, QuickTime, 1MB) for Lynch's upcoming movie "Lost Highway," and is now at work on a new Nine Inch Nails album with producer Rick Rubin.

He also says he and Rubin recently met with Dre in Los Angeles on the same day that Ice Cube sent Reznor a fax reading, "I want to work with you."

Reznor says Cube is, "the best rapper I ever heard," and Cube's group Westside Connection used a sample from the NIN song "Hurt" on the track "The Gangsta, the Killa and the Dope Dealer" on its album "Bow Down."

"I like him because he just do what he want to do," Cube said later of Reznor.

"He puts music together that's so original, and so above what everybody else is doing, and so like creative. You can just tell he's always thinking about how he's gonna put his music together. So when I heard that, and this guy named Butter, put it together and looped it for us... you know, then it was like 'Oh man!,' it was tight. We just knew that that was gonna be an underground hit."
