New York, NY, January 3, 2001 ­ nine inch nails have received a Grammy nomination for "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance" for "Into The Void" (from the multi-platinum release "THE FRAGILE"). Announced today by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the winners will be announced at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards on February 21, 2001. nine inch nails have previously won two Grammy awards and have been nominated numerous times.

In addition to the Grammy nod, nine inch nails are topping key magazine critics' and readers¹ polls as evidenced by the ROLLING STONE Annual Music Awards issue in which nine inch nails are named "Best Tour" in their Critics¹ Picks. In its annual A.P. Readers Poll Awards, ALTERNATIVE PRESS names Trent Reznor "Best Artist". Reznor is profiled in an interview with A.P. Editor In Chief Robert Cherry and is featured on the cover of the issue which hits newsstands nationwide on January 5.

In 2000, nine inch nails toured Japan, Australia, New Zealand and North America (the 43 city, sold-out "Fragility v2.0" tour), mounting a sonic stage show the magnitude of which had never been witnessed before. In late November, nine inch nails released "things falling apart", an album of manipulations from "The Fragile". "things falling apart" features new interpretations of "Into The Void", "The Wretched", "Starfuckers, Inc.", "The Frail", and "Where Is Everybody". Also included on the ten song disc is a cover of Gary Numan's "Metal" and a never-before-released track from "The Fragile" recording sessions entitled "The Great Collapse". Produced by Trent Reznor, the album follows in a long line of nine inch nails remix albums (including "Further Down The Spiral" and "Fixed").

Currently, Reznor is completing work on a live DVD/VHS release. The as-yet-untitled project is scheduled for a spring release and features footage from nine inch nails¹ visually groundbreaking "Fragility v2.0" concert tour. The untitled DVD/VHS marks the first DVD release from nine inch nails.
